Flourtown, PA – Joe Torsella, released the following statement on the election results for State Treasurer:
I’m so grateful to the people of Pennsylvania for giving me the privilege of serving as their next State Treasurer, and particularly for electing me by the largest margin of any candidate running statewide this year. I pledged in this campaign to restore integrity to the Treasurer’s office, to serve as a tough and independent fiscal watchdog, and to use the tools of the Treasurer’s office to create opportunity for all Pennsylvanians. Voters across the state heard our message and supported it loud and clear.
I look forward to serving all Pennsylvanians. Because our Commonwealth deserves a Treasurer who is not just honest and accountable, but who will help more families save for college, help more working Pennsylvanians save for retirement, and use our common resources to build our common future.
I received a gracious phone call from Otto Voit earlier tonight, and I want to thank him again for the energy and the ideas he brought to this campaign, and commend him for his public service and spirit.
